‘Axor NYC’: The new venue for design aficionados and bathroom enthusiasts in Manhattan

Axor opens its first design studio in the U.S. in the middle of the creative Meatpacking District

Last week in New York, designers, architects, interior designers, media representatives – some 1,200 invited guests´in all – celebrated the official inauguration of the first Axor design studio in the U.S. World-famous design specialists with whom Axor has been cooperating closely for many years now, including Patricia Urquiola, Ronan Bouroullec and Antonio Citterio, sent their congratulations in video messages for the opening ceremony. In his message, Milan-based Antonio Citterio emphasized the fact that Axor and Vitra actually share part of the premises in the building complex in 9th street. To Citterio, this is a “fantastic combination”. This close affinity between the designer brand of Hansgrohe AG and Vitra, the Swiss furniture maker, is so obvious because Axor and Vitra share a pronounced passion for design and quality and partly cooperate with the same design partners. For instance, top designers like Antonio Citterio or the Bouroullec brothers work for both companies.

“Axor quite deliberately does not work with a single design team but with several of the world’s best and acknowledged designers. This versatility and quality of international top bathroom design embodied in ‘Axor NYC’ is what we are now bringing to Manhattan. This is especially attractive to design enthusiasts, of whom there are many in New York and especially in the creative, pulsating Meatpacking District, but also to members of the expert public,” notes Philippe Grohe, Head of the Axor brand.

From Monday, September 19, 2011, ‘Axor NYC’ is open to architects, specialized visitors and everyone who wants to design their bathroom according to their very own individual needs and preferences.

‘Axor NYC’: Inspiration for everyone in the field of bathroom design

“To many, the bathroom is gaining increasing importance as a living space,” explains Philippe Grohe at the inauguration. “They’re beginning to get involved with their own personal needs and wishes when it comes to bathroom design. In the middle of Manhattan, in one of the most creative quarters, ‘Axor NYC’ provides a space full of inspiration for talks on the many and various opportunities for everyone interested in individualized design of their bathrooms. And this applies to all visitors – from design aficionados to architects or planners – who can obtain advice here on site from our bathroom professionals. Their clients are welcome to join in, too.”
