On 29 October 2009, Richard Grohe, Deputy Chairman of Hansgrohe AG, received about 300 guests at the Hansgrohe Aquademie in Schiltach to present the “Masdar City Project”.

“Masdar City” – a project of the future

Schiltach, October 2009. What do a bathroom and sanitation specialist from the Black Forest and a project in the Abu Dhabi Desert have in common? Quite a lot, is the probably rather unexpected, yet correct answer. The reason is that in building “Masdar City”, the world’s first CO2-neutral, zero-waste eco-city, on the Persian Gulf, those in charge also opted for the environmentally friendly products from Hansgrohe AG. This allows the Schiltach-based company to participate in a forward-looking project that combines innovation, technology and sustainability – and is thus a perfect match with the company's own corporate philosophy. “Hansgrohe’s involvement in the construction of “Masdar City” once again underscores our role as an ecological pioneer,” said Richard Grohe, Deputy Chairman of Hansgrohe AG. “The project and our company both share an unequivocal commitment towards sustainability and environmental protection.”
