"And the Silver Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany goes to…the Hansgrohe Raindance Connect EcoSmart showerpipe”With obvious pride Richard Grohe, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Hansgrohe AG, and Tom Schönherr from Phoenix Design accepted Germany’s most important design award ceremoniously presented to them by the Parliamentary State Secretary of the German Federal Ministry for the Economy and Technology Ernst Burgbacher. The Silver Design Award 2010 goes to the Hansgrohe Raindance Connect EcoSmart showerpipe, an outstanding innovative and water saving shower system comprising an overhead and hand shower. The award, presented each year at the “Ambiente” trade fair in Frankfurt/Main, is considered the “prize of prizes”, which makes high demands on the participants: Only products that are nominated by the federal and state economic ministries are entitled for this award. From more than 1,200 nominees, the high-caliber jury selected this year a total of 23 entries in the product design category. “This extraordinary award is not only proof of the innovative power of our company, it also represents confirmation of our successful collaboration with Phoenix Design – our partners for many years, with whom we have had the pleasure of developing many of our design award-winning mixers and showerheads”, explained Richard Grohe, responsible for product innovation in the board of the bathroom and sanitation specialist from the Black Forest.  The delight in the shared success was evident when Richard Grohe, Deputy Chairman of Hansgrohe AG, and Tom Schönherr (2nd from the left) from Phoenix Design accepted the Silver Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany 2010.
