Schiltach, March 10, 2010. “To enjoy water and make better use of it,” says Otto Schinle, member of the Management Board of Hansgrohe AG with headquarters in Schiltach/Black Forest, “has been a concern for us for a long time. We therefore welcome the initiative by the European Union (EU) to encourage the sustainable, efficient use of water and a reduction in energy consumption under its Ecodesign Directive.” The Schiltach-based mixer and shower manufacturer has always taken responsibility for the environment and for society seriously and is constantly setting new benchmarks in this field. And that is not only since climate change has started to dominate the headlines. It is no coincidence that Hansgrohe AG and its products have won multiple awards for showing an exemplary commitment towards the protection of the environment and natural resources. “On the other hand, to keep relying on smaller and smaller water flow rates cannot be the solution in the long term,” adds Otto Schinle, “for showers, it is a matter of finding the right balance between saving water and shower comfort.”
