World Cup football teams shower with HansgroheSchiltach, June 9, 2010. Schiltach-based Hansgrohe AG supplies mixers and showerheads for the World Cup in South Africa. In four of the ten football stadiums, change rooms and VIP boxes were fitted with products made by the design leader. They include the Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg where the opening game and the finals will be held, the Durban Stadium, the GreenPoint Stadium in Cape Town, and the newly built Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth. Many hotels, clubs and lodges built in recent months to cater for the Football World Cup have also opted for Hansgrohe’s “Made in Germany” seal of quality. Around 30 hotels in the upscale and luxury bracket chose mixers and showerheads from the Black Forest to fit out their bathrooms. “Hansgrohe is regarded as the international leader in design and innovation and as a high-quality premium brand in the South African market. Architects and developers value our innovative products which combine the enjoyment of water with the conservation of resources,“ said Siegfried Gänßlen, the CEO of Hansgrohe AG. “We have been represented in South Africa through our own subsidiary since 2009, and last year we managed to increase sales by 25 percent. Today we are already the leading imported brand on the Cape – and we are set to increase our market share substantially. Our successes in the project business in the lead-up to the Football World Cup create the ideal conditions for doing so.”
