Schiltach, August 2008. Hansgrohe AG, headquartered in  Schiltach/Black Forest, will be continuing its expansion course this year as well. After founding a separate branch in India at the beginning of the year, the manufacturer of bathroom fittings and showers is now launching legally independent sales companies in Argentina and Russia. This takes the number of foreign offices to 28. “In both countries,“ explains Chairman of the Hansgrohe Executive Board Siegfried Gänßlen, “we have quadrupled our turnover in the last five years – in Argentina through importers, in Russia with a separate representative office.” In view of the sagging economy in North America and Europe it is even more important than before to have an active presence in the up-and-coming economies of these so-called emerging markets. “By establishing independent Hansgrohe subsidiaries in Buenos Aires and Moscow,” adds Luis Weiler, Sales Director for Europe & Latin America, “we shall be able to further intensify our local operations and take better advantage of the growth potentials in both regions. At the same time, the new branches in the Argentinian and Russian capitals will have a key function by providing bases to serve the respective neighbouring markets in South America and the CIS states.” The bathroom and sanitation specialist has also announced the foundation of additional subsidiaries in Croatia and Serbia within the coming months.
